Poster for drama "QARGA"
This series tells the story of adult graduates of an orphanage, who from an early age have faced cruelty and injustice. Now, having reached maturity, they decide to find the man who caused them suffering, and repay him for the years of tyranny. As the story unfolds, the characters face many difficulties and obstacles.
This initiative is unique from previous ones as there was no photo session conducted. The poster was created from available photos taken during the shooting of behind-the-scenes footage. Since the main character is portrayed by an actor renowned in Kazakhstan, the poster emphasizes him. Additionally, this role was a departure for him, venturing into the realm of drama. He is the pivotal force in the film, with all events directly or indirectly initiated by him.
The narrative sees the protagonist incarcerated as a child for a crime he did not commit, emerging from prison two decades later with a worldview reminiscent of the early 2000s. To the rest of the film’s characters, he represents a greeting from a bygone era. Therefore, the poster was designed to evoke the feel of aged, faded magazines.
I developed supplementary promotional content for this project. Thanks to its elaborate identity, it distinguished itself and remained memorable to the viewers, attracting a substantial fan following.
A distinct stylistic approach was selected for the project’s intro to make it more expressive. Given that the narrative is built around the characters, it was essential to introduce the audience to each one and their history.
